Woman in Britain is Able to See 99 Million Colors

A British woman found to have a much different vision than most people. This woman's eyes can see more than 99 million colors.

The condition is called tetrachromat is someone who is able to see colors unimaginable by normal vision. A neuroscientist at the University of Newcastle, Gabriele Jordan, said the condition affects only women. There may be people who are living with full-color condition but did not realize it.

Tetrachromat vision judged by eye cells known as cones. Most people have three cone cells, and color blindness have two cones. However tetrachromat has four types of cone.

It became the first discovery of a tetrachromat in Britain after 20 years of research. She was discovered after a series of tests. In the last stage she managed to identify the color that can only be identified by tetrachromat.

"Unfortunately, she could not explain the color that she had seen by comparing it with what we see," said Gabriele. "So it's like a color blind explain what we see as red."

But Gabriele reluctant to reveal the identity of the woman's details. He just called it a code cDa29 and works as a doctor in northern England.
