U.S. swimmer cell phone Michael Phelps rang when he headed to the Olympic pool on Wednesday (01/08) and a voice on the phone asking for swimming star is waiting for a moment as President Barack Obama wants to talk.
In a telephone conversation, President Obama would like to support and convey that the people of the United States are very proud of Phelps as an Olympic athlete who won medals after bagging 19 medals on Tuesday (31/07).
"He talked and convey every man in America to support me and behind me and how proud they are to me," said Phelps.
According to Phelps, Before closing the conversation, President Obama told him to tell his mother that the president had called.
"He ended the conversation by saying, 'Do not forget to tell your mom that I called,'" Phelps said.
Michael Phelps' mother, Debbie, is a supporter and fan of this U.S. swimmer.
Earlier, President Barack Obama has expressed his congratulations to Michael Phelps via Twitter messages. The message is stamped the initials "bo" for indicating that a message written by Barack Obama.
"Congrats to Michael Phelps for breaking the all-time Olympic medal record. You've made your country proud. -bo" the president tweeted on twitter.
At the Beijing Olympics, Michael Phelps won eight gold medals.
Last Tuesday the team number, Phelps helped the team win a gold medal and a whole-from the Athens and Beijing Olympics - he won 19 gold medals and silver.
